Bakersfield Fourth of July Celebration in front of the Western Hotel about 1915, with the Leader Saloon on the left and Crowell’s Furniture at right, on the south side of Sumner near Baker. Cars, bicycles, livestock…Western House / Hotel built in 1898 just after a major fire. The Peoples Store was only open for a short time in 1901. The location became The Leader Saloon.
