Clerou Tire Company

Established in 1942, Clerou Tire is a family-owned business, providing expert automotive service. In the beginning it was located at 17th and K streets. Louis Clerou started his business after serving in World War II and the Korean War (leaving the Marine Corps as a colonel). Louis’ younger brother, Joseph, became a partner in 1958. Prior to that partnership though, Bakersfield’s 1952 earthquake, rocked the business, forcing them to move to 24th and O streets. As Bakersfield went through growing pains, in 1963, they moved to their current location of East 21st and Kern streets.

Their reputation is built on 70 plus years of quality, affordable service and tires.

Today the company specializes in tires for your trucks, farming equipment, trailer, industrial vehicle, as well as passenger vehicles. They also do front end alignments, brakes, and oil changes.
